Hotels in Wroxham

Today, Wroxham is a very popular base for exploring the scenic Norfolk Broads, and has, over the years, inherited the proud nickname of 'Capital of the Broads'. The village is adjacent to the picturesque community of Hoveton, which is technically an independent village, although it is often considered to be part of Wroxham.

The Hoveton Hall Estate

Probably the most striking landmark in this part of Norfolk is the Hoveton Hall Estate, which is centred on a grand Regency Hall that is more than 200 years old. The estate also has more than 600 acres of beautiful grounds, and is now a sought-after venue for weddings and other special events.

The Bure Valley Railway

Take a ride on the popular Bure Valley Railway, a special steam locomotive that takes visitors on a nine-mile journey through the stunning East Anglian countryside. The train, which stops at several picturesque villages along the way, travels between Wroxham and the fine market settlement of Aylsham, and is the perfect family day out.

Further afield

Consider taking a day trip to Great Yarmouth, which has been a beloved seaside resort for more than 250 years and is noted for its two piers and imposing late-Georgian Britannia Monument. You could also head a little further south to the Lowestoft, which, like Great Yarmouth, overlooks a wonderful sandy beach, and is the most easterly point in Britain.

Inland, you can also visit the charming city of Norwich, which is famed for its two prominent cathedrals, enchanting 17th-century Felbrigg Hall, and well-preserved 13th-century St Ethelbert's Gate.

Wroxham accommodation

One of the most sought-after Wroxham hotels is the Coach House Bed and Breakfast, which offers elegant accommodation in a charming country house. Other highly rated accommodation establishments you could consider booking include the immaculate Park Lodge, and Delaware.

Eating out

If you're after some delicious British classics, you should consider dining at Wherrymans Restaurant or The Bridge Restaurant, or head to Greys Traditional Fish and Chips for more fantastic fresh food. The Old Mill Restaurant, meanwhile, offers other delecSEOSITE_LEVEL_DESCRIPTION British-themed dishes in a bistro setting, while The River Kitchen Café & Restaurant provides delightful French and British-themed recipes.
