The Peak District

A short drive to the east from Wilmslow will take you to the Peak District National Park. The historical manor house, Lyme Park is at the northern end of the park. The house dates from the 16th century and is perhaps best known as the home of Mr Darcy in the 1995 BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice. Head deeper into the Peak District and you'll find an enormous amount of varied terrain to explore, including a sprawling network of walks for hikers of all ages and abilities. As well as hiking, the Peak District is an excellent location for cycling, golfing, fishing, caving, climbing and horse riding.


Driving north from Wilmslow will take you to the heart of Manchester, home to a staggering array of attractions including the Imperial War Museum North, Manchester Museum, The Royal Exchange Theatre and Old Trafford Stadium.
