Hotels in Swallow
Swallow is a picturesque village in the West Lindsey area of Lincolnshire, nestled in a beautifully scenic setting with a laid-back charm of its own. The village is a special spot for a relaxing break, surrounded by rolling green countryside, and characterised by lovely streets lined with shops and cafés.
The village has attracted settlers since ancient times, but much of the town today hints at more modern eras. Only the medieval church in the heart of the village remains intact to point towards its long history. As you're wandering through the town keep your eyes peeled for the First World War Memorial too.
Discovering the surrounding area
The east coast is only a short drive from Swallow, so you can pop across to Cleethorpes or Grimsby for the day to enjoy the fresh, sea air.
While you're over that way, check out Cleethorpes Golf Club if you fancy an afternoon wandering the green, or drive over to Willingham Woods for a really lovely walk among the trees, exploring the beautiful countryside of the area. But perhaps the best way to see the area, and the most fun is to book onto The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway and catch a steam train through the rolling hills at a leisurely pace.
Places to dine and sleep
It's unsurprising that as a small and unspoiled village, there aren't lots of restaurants and hotels to choose from. The Swallow Inn is the village pub, and it's definitely worth a visit though. A short drive away you'll find a few other lovely eateries like The Ship Inn and Fourteen Restaurant.
The same applies to Swallow hotels, and you can find places to stay within a few minutes' drive of the village itself. Try the BEST WESTERN Oaklands Hall, The Stallingborough Grange Hotel or the Humber Royal Hotel as a starting point.
