Today, Poulton le Fylde is a visitor attraction with a lot to see, down to the pretty purple and yellow crocus flowers which bloom in front of the church every spring.

The independent shops have something a bit more individual about them than chain shops in bigger towns. At the Teanlowe Shopping Centre, there's a large supermarket where you can pick up essentials (and food if you're staying self-catering).
A Farmers Market is held in the square on the fourth Saturday of each month. The usual weekly market is on Mondays.

History and heritage
The cobbled streets and historic market square in Poulton le Fylde are clues to old Roman settlements and the medieval importance of the town. Archaeologists have uncovered evidence that the area was inhabited over 12,000 years ago.
The old stocks and whipping post are still present in the town centre but no longer used. They now act as a local photo opportunity for visitors.
On the south side of the market place, you can see the old home of James Baines, next to the bank. He was a local wool merchant who left his money to fund three schools in town – all of which are still running.
