Hotels in Palma Nova

On the western coast of Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, lies Palma Nova. Book a Palma Nova hotel with us and enjoy this effervescent resort town.

As Mallorca increased in popularity during the 1930s, the resort town of Palma Nova was created to meet the demand of visitors who were typically alighting on nearby Magaluf and Palma. Palma Nova (which translates as 'New Palma') is, by comparison to its more famous neighbours, the quietest of the three resorts, making it ideal for families.

By the sea

The original harbour is intact, hinting at the town's previous existence as a haven for working fishermen. Today, elegant yachts outnumber ramshackle fishing boats. The rugged coastline shelters the Blue Flag beaches of Son Matias, Es Carregador and Playa de Palma Nova. Palma Nova's golden-sanded bays are perfect for relaxing and playing, with the warm Balearic Sea lapping against the shore under cloudless skies. Take a boat trip around the harbour or take part in water sports such as windsurfing or kitesurfing, and, of course, swimming. You could even walk the full length of the resort.

Floodlit golf

A very popular attraction on Palma Nova is Golf Fantasia where you can play three different 18-hole mini-golf courses, each with fun themes depicting waterfalls, caves, lakes and so on.

Restaurants and cafés

Mallorcan cooking makes full use of local produce such as walnuts, almonds, olives and ramallets - the island's own variety of tomato. Perhaps start the day with an ensaïmada, a delicious, sweet spiral pastry that's popular with the locals. You'll find a wide selection of eateries that cater for many tastes, including those serving Mexican, French, British and Chinese cuisine.

Palma Nova is a vibrant resort with sports bars and clubs providing music and live entertainment that goes on into the small hours of the morning. What sets Palma Nova apart from Magaluf and Palma is that it's not as frenetic as those two hotspots. This comes as a blessing to many visitors, not to mention Palma Nova's residents. If your preference is for a more extravagant night out then Magaluf and Palma are within easy access of Palma Nova.

Shopping in and around Palma Nova

The shops on the resort stay open late and you'll find plenty of places selling wines, beers and spirits and tobacco. There are a couple of large supermarkets for essentials, as well as shops selling souvenirs, sportswear and the like.
