Hotels in North Walsham

North Walsham is a charming market town in the north of Norfolk, a county in eastern England. North Walsham hotels offer an excellent base from which to visit the exceedingly beautiful Norfolk Coast. However, there is so much fun to get up to in the town itself, you may not have time to go elsewhere.

Davenport's Magic Kingdom

You might not expect a Norfolk town to be the place to immerse yourself in the supernatural, but North Walsham is not your average Norfolk town. Davenport's Magic Kingdom is the only magic museum and theatre in the UK open to the public.

Entry price allows you access to all manner of enchanting exhibits, including the Witches to Wonder exhibition that chronicles the history of magical entertainment, from witches to TV magicians. After a day of being wowed, replenish your laughter at the Ace to Eat Café, where a meal will leave you continuing to smile.

Norfolk Motorcycle Museum

The motorheads among you will be overjoyed to hear that North Walsham is also home to the Norfolk Motorcycle Museum. The museum features a vast collection of motorcycles from a period spanning over 100 years. If you are interested in the evolution of vehicle design, or simply want to look at some cool bikes, this is the place.

Stompers Adventure Play

If you'd prefer to check out the motorcycle museum without the distraction of bored kids, drop them off at Stompers Indoor Adventure Play, in the middle of town. The centre has three play zones that encompass everything from Scramble Nets to a Football and Basketball arena.

If you decide to stay and watch the kids play, there is an excellent café that serves great food and freshly ground coffee, so you can relax with the paper while the children have the time of their lives.

Food and drink

After a day of sightseeing, or jumping around in a ball pit, you'll no doubt be feeling hungry. Luckily, North Walsham is blessed with some brilliant restaurants.

You might not expect to get excellent sushi in this part of the world, but Soyokaze serves up delicious and authentic Japanese food right in the heart of town.

For something a bit more traditional, the Three Cottages Fish Restaurant, has wonderful fish and chips, all made with the most local of local ingredients. After a fish supper, head to Orchard Gardens, a great wine bar with an extensive list, just round the corner, on Mundesley Road.
