Local attractions

The area takes its name from Sheffield Manor Lodge, a former hunting lodge that was converted into a grand manor house by the Earl of Shrewsbury in the early-16th century. Explore the ruins, learn about the history of the area and find time to meet the animals that live on the estate's farm.

Thanks to considerable investment in public transport in Sheffield, accessing other parts of the city from Manor is straightforward and affordable. Catch the Supertram at Manor Top station and you'll be in the heart of the city with its shops, restaurants, galleries and museums in less than 20 minutes.

There are plenty of green spaces around Manor, including Norfolk Heritage Park. This 28-hectare Grade II listed historic parkland offers wonderful views out across the city and is the perfect place for a relaxing stroll. For live entertainment, Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena is one of the region's major venues. International recording artists, comedians and sports teams appear on stage here throughout the year.

Head into Sheffield city centre to find a huge range of visitor attractions including the Winter Garden, a temperate glasshouse that's home to 2,500 plants from around the world. Catch a show at the nearby Crucible Theatre, or perhaps a snooker match if you arrive during the World Snooker Championship in April.

The centre of Sheffield is filled with a wide variety of national chain stores and independent retailers alike along Fargate and The Moor. Manor itself has a number of community shops and facilities based around Manor Park Centre.

Meadowhall Shopping Centre, a few minutes to the north of Manor, is the largest retail hub for miles around and attracts a huge number of shoppers, especially on weekends. You'll find all of the major brands represented here, as well as a great selection of dining options.

For the widest choice of restaurants, you'll want to make the short trip into the city centre.
