Hotels in Les Carroz
Part of the Grand Massif ski area, Les Carroz hotels are nestled in a traditional village – perfect for families and beginners looking for a relaxing and friendly place to ski. The area also offers plenty of thrills for intermediate and advanced skiers.
The village of Les Carroz was, until the 1930s, a small farming hamlet. Since that point the area has grown as part of the world-famous ski resort, Grand Massif. The village lies on a plateau overlooking the Arve Valley, at an altitude of 1,140m and gets plenty of sunlight.
Whether you're a beginner or an advanced skier, Les Carroz offers access to a range of world-class slopes. The friendly atmosphere is welcoming to first-timers and there's a renowned ski school in the resort itself. For intermediate skiers there are more than 100 runs in the heart of the Grand Massif encompassing a wide variety of terrain, all easily accessed via a handy gondola. For serious skiers there are 15 black runs, including the Piste des Cascades, with slopes up to 40 percent.
The traditional ambiance of Les Carroz means that wild parties are thin on the ground – part of the reason the resort is so popular with families. There are, however, around a dozen bars where you can grab a warm cup of mulled wine. The area also has regular live music events, as well as evening activities including snowmobiling and sledging.
Les Carroz also boasts an excellent spa scene, with a range of rejuvenating treatments on offer in the area. Mountain Spa & Beauty provides everything from face and body beauty treatments to relaxing massages. Fini'tifs boast a range of traditional treatments, including Moroccan black soap scrubs, massages and seaweed wraps. The Residence Les Fermes du Soleil offers Deep Blue massages using warm oil delivered by seaweed purses.
If you're travelling with kids the resort is an ideal place to teach them how to ski. The ski kindergarten at Club des Loupiots offers friendly tuition and there are a range of activities to enjoy outside of the slope, including ice karts and art classes.
Food and drink
