Hotels in Isle Of Mull

The rugged and dramatic Isle of Mull is the second largest island of the Inner Hebrides. Isle of Mull Hotels offer guests a place to stay surrounded by rocky coastlines, soaring mountains and abundant wildlife.

Tobermory

The main town of the Isle of Mull is Tobermory, a picturesque fishing port that was famously used as the location for the children's show ‘Balamory'. The Mull Museum comprehensively charts the history of the island, from the applications of crofting to the fate of the Tobermory Galleon, sunk by the Spanish Armada in 1588. The Tobermory Distillery was established in 1798 and offers education tours and tastings, while the Marine Visitor Centre has hands-on exhibitions and is a great choice if you're travelling with the family.

North Mull

The northern end of the Isle of Mull is a wild place with some of the island's most stunning beauty spots. Four miles from Tobermory is Glengorm Castle, and while the castle itself isn't open to the public the grounds a free to explore. The castle area also offers striking views across the sea to Ardnamurchan and the Outer Hebrides. Calgary Beach is a popular destination if you're looking to enjoy an amble along the shore, while the Old Byre Heritage Centre has an interesting range of exhibits as well as a tearoom and a play area for kids.

South Mull

The southern end of the island culminates in the peninsula, Ross of Mull, with dramatic basalt cliff faces and harsh granite crags. Make your way to the village of Bunessan and you'll find the Ross of Mull Historical Centre, a fascinating little attraction that has plenty of information on the local geology, wildlife and archaeology.

Golf

If you're heading to Scotland to enjoy the nation's favourite sport, the Isle of Mull has a number of excellent golf courses. The only risk of playing here is that you'll probably be distracted from the game by the stunning surroundings. The Craignure Golf Club is close to the ferry port of Craignure, the Iona Golf Course is free to use and is set right on the coast near Traigh Mor, while the Tobermory Golf Club is a challenging hilly course in Tobermory.
