All year round, people come to Goathland – or, as they know it, Aidensfield from classic TV show Heartbeat. You may also have seen the village mentioned in 21st-century literature. The village is nestled within the scenic North York Moors, yet is only an hour's drive from the seaside town of Scarborough. It's also easy to make a day trip to Goathland from York or Middlesborough.
A wander around the village will take you back to Aidensfield's most famous sights and locations. The garage, funeral director and local shops have been used in the backdrops for several episodes.
