Hotels in Ebbsfleet

Ebbsfleet Garden City is Britain's first new garden city in 100 years. Situated by the River Thames in Kent, its new railway provides high speed services to King's Cross St Pancras and Stratford, and Eurostar services to Europe. There are a handful of Ebbsfleet hotels, but with a number of rooms and modern amenities, guests can be guaranteed a stress-free stay.

As well as being close to London, Ebbsfleet is perfectly situated for a weekend of shopping as it's only a few miles from Bluewater shopping centre – which is the fourth largest in Britain.

Visitors can also enjoy watching the local football team, Ebbsfleet United FC, in their Stonebridge Road stadium. Or for an idyllic summer activity, the Woodlands Park Bowls Club is located in the Ebbsfleet Valley. Families will enjoy a trip to the Swanscombe Heritage Park, which offers a mix of walking trails, cycling routes, sports fields, an adventure playground as well as information panels. Indeed, the park's archaeological discoveries offer some of the earliest evidence of man in this country. Flint tools dating back 400,000 years were found in abundance, providing interesting insight into life in the early Stone Age here. The Ebbsfleet River was held sacred by the Celts, then followed by the Romans, who both left a fascinating trail of artefacts behind them.

The nearby town of Gravesend offers plenty to see and do, including a visit to St George's Church, which is the burial site of the Native American Indian Pocahontas. The Darnley Mausoleum is a Grade I- listed building owned by the National Trust. Set in peaceful woodland, visitors can explore this 18th-century mausoleum, take a guided walk and view the chapel and crypt. Set within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is a range of wood pasture habitat and attractive countryside to explore.

The Ebbsfleet Grill offers both in-house dining and takeaways, and serves a range of dishes including kebabs, pizza, burgers, and fish and chips. For a traditional pub experience, try the award-winning George and Dragon: a popular ale house, it boasts its own micro-brewery, as well as open fires and chess sets. For a wider range of options, the nearby town of Gravesend offers a range of restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars.
