St Swithun's Church

A beautifully preserved Grade II listed building, St Swithun's Church was originally built in the 11th century, although the building was devastated by a lightning strike in 1772. Fortunately, it was rebuilt later in the century by the prominent architect James Wyatt, who restored dozens of houses and churches in the Neogothic and Neoclassical style.

Standen

A handsome country house, Standen is a coveted Grade I listed landmark that dates back to the 1890s and was built in the Arts and Crafts style. It was pioneered by the renowned architect Philip Webb, who is often dubbed the 'Father of Arts and Crafts Architecture' and co-founded the Society for the Protection for Ancient Buildings with the novelist and poet William Morris.

Sackville College

One of the oldest buildings in East Grinstead, Sackville College is a sandstone almshouse that is more than four centuries old and is an important local charity. Although this Jacobean house still operates as a residence for the elderly, it is regularly open to the public, and has also been designated as a Grade I listed building.
