Hotels in Dubai

Flock to any one of the magnificent shopping malls in Dubai and you’re in for a treat. Retail therapy takes on a whole new level when you enter these air-conditioned mini cities. Check out the local mall near your hotel in Dubai and you’re likely to find luxury brands and world-class dining. Our favourites include the Dubai Mall with over 1200 stores and Mall of the Emirates.

Buzzing beaches

Dubai beaches are packed with activities. Tourists and locals flock to the sands to exercise, play games, take out the jet-skis and of course top up their tans. For sun worshippers, Kite Beach (or Wollongong beach as it’s sometimes known) is a gorgeous option. If your Dubai hotel is near JumeirahBeach Park, it’s worth stopping off to enjoy the cool grass and hot sands, but our favourite is Al-Mamzar Beach Park with long white sandy beaches.  It’s perfectly acceptable to wear swimwear on Dubai beaches, but you may like to consider paying for one of the entry-fee beaches for a bit more privacy.

Amazing adventures

If you’ve saved on a cheap Dubai hotel, then this is where you should splash your cash. Dubai is home to some incredible experiences, guaranteed to set your heart racing. We love hot air ballooning over the Dubai Desert Conversation Reservation, or a day at Meyden Racecourse watching the horses- it’s a world away from Ascot, and an incredible experience.

Fantastic food

When in Dubai, try manakish- baked flatbreads with cheese and minced meats. Head to the Al Reef Lebanese Bakery and ask the staff to recommend their favourite filling. If you’re looking for a romantic restaurant, head to Bait Al Wakeel for authentic local cuisine and and a breath-taking view over the creek.

Awesome architecture

Dubai perfectly marries the old and the new in a single place. Whether you’re staying in a palace or a cheap hotel, you can enjoy some of the best architecture on foot, or if you’re feeling daring, by sea plane. Check out Burj Al Arab the sail-like building large enough to fit the Statute of Liberty inside, the striking Sheik Zayed Mosque, top it all off with a trip to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building at 828 meters.

Dubai is one of our chosen destinations for our guide on Where’s hot in May. Check out what activities you can enjoy including an indoor ski slope and a floodlit game of golf.
