At the highest point of the Courchevel region in the French Alps, Courchevel 1850 is a glamorous and fashionable ski resort. It's named for the altitude of the resort, which is actually in the Jardin Alpin area of town. In 2012, the ‘1850' part of the name was dropped, giving it the same name as the wider area. However, many visitors still refer to 1850 as the name change is relatively recent.

The 5-star and ‘palace' 6-star Courchevel 1850 hotels have to be seen to be believed. The town has the most hotels of any part of Courchevel, the vast majority of which are at least 4-star.

The restaurants in Courchevel share 11 Michelin stars, and you'll find several of them in Courchevel 1850. Quite a few have been achieved by restaurants within hotels, ensuring you receive world-class service.

The two stars boasted by Le Chabichou were awarded in the 1980s. Award-winning chefs use seasonal ingredients to create the finest dishes. You can access the restaurant directly from the nearby ski lift.

Whenever you're feeling peckish, try L'Arbé which is open all day. It offers traditional Savoyard cuisine from France's Haute-Savoie region.
