At the highest point of the Courchevel region in the French Alps, Courchevel 1850 is a glamorous and fashionable ski resort. It's named for the altitude of the resort, which is actually in the Jardin Alpin area of town. In 2012, the ‘1850' part of the name was dropped, giving it the same name as the wider area. However, many visitors still refer to 1850 as the name change is relatively recent.

The 5-star and ‘palace' 6-star Courchevel 1850 hotels have to be seen to be believed. The town has the most hotels of any part of Courchevel, the vast majority of which are at least 4-star.
