One of the most noteworthy things about Baslow is its proximity to Chatsworth House. For many people, Chatsworth needs no introduction at all, but for those who haven't heard of it, it is one of the most internationally famous country houses in Britain – and with good reason. Surrounded by 1,000 acres of parkland – and numerous walking trails – the main house is an imposing presence indeed. 500 years of history mean that the house has evolved over time and incorporates a variety of different architectural and interior styles, from Tudor to English Baroque. What's more, art enthusiasts will encounter one of the continent's most impressive collections – the Devonshire Collection.

Chatsworth is not the only thing which attracts visitors, however. Baslow offers a variety of beautiful sights and experiences, both in the village and the surrounding area, which are just waiting to be discovered. The village is the starting point for many of the Peak District's best walking routes, while the famous 'Blue John' caverns at nearby Castleton make for a fun family day out.
