How to get there

Flights to Majorca land at Palma Airport which is in the west of the island. If you look at a Majorca map, Alcudia is on the north east coast and it takes around an hour to get there by taxi.

Public transportation

Public transport is extensive in Majorca, with bus, metro and train services. An Intermodal card gives you discounts on all three modes of transport. You can also buy a T20 or T40 bus ticket which gives you 20 or 40 trips at a discounted price from as little as EUR0.63 per trip.

Typical food and gastronomy 

Spain is not Spain without Sangria and tapas. Majorca is one of the most popular holiday destinations and it isn’t just us Brits who think so. This means that there is a variety of different cuisines available so if you are after traditional Majorcan ensaïmada or a good old English fry up you’ll be sure to find what you are looking for. For a local delight try sobrassada, a spreadable sausage that you eat with bread and cheese. Coca Mallorquina is a kind of flatbread pizza with vegetables. Those with a sweet tooth can try ensaimada, a sweet pastry twist which is sometimes served with cream or chocolate.

What is the Best time of the year to visit Majorca?
