The warm, Mediterranean climate makes Split a great choice of destination for sunseekers. Temperatures in the summer months often hit 30C, but averages around 18C even in the off peak season.

This sunny weather means that Split is the perfect place to hit the beach, and you’ll be spoilt for choice with the range of sea and sand on offer. Dive into Croatian culture

It’s not all just sun, sea and sand in Split – with an abundance of museums and historical sites, there’s lots of locations to visit to keep culture vultures amused too. One of Split’s must see attractions is the famous Diocletian Palace, which was built by Roman emperor Dicoletian in the early 4th century. However, the Mestrovic Gallery, which showcases the work of Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic, and the Croatian Maritime Museum also make interesting excursions.
