Further inland lies the capital of Costa Dorada, Tarragona, a historical town notable for its archaeological sites including a classic amphitheatre and the remains of a roman circus that once held chariot races. Having such a temperate climate, Costa Dorada has vineyards in abundance producing some fine fruity red wines and much of the country’s celebratory fizz, Cava.
