In the city
The city has plenty to see in the daytime, ranging from large beautiful buildings to fun interactive activities. A good place to start your trip can be the Wilhema Royal Palace. These fun and educational centres have loads to keep the kids occupied and will teach you about the success of the car industry in Germany and Stuttgart.
The Stuttgart State Museum is great if you want to learn about the city's past. The museum has two separate exhibition buildings where you can explore the displays within. On your visit you should expect to delve through the past as deeply as the prehistoric era, and learn all about the planet's various ecosystems.
Food and drink
There are loads of local dishes to try, with Stuttgart boasting a whole host of cheeses, sausages and beers that are better here than anywhere else. One dish that's a little more complex is the local Maultaschen. These food parcels come in all sorts of variations and are really popular in the restaurants that serve them.
To find a traditional spread try Bierhaus West. Here you'll see a great selection of all of the above, plus some really good regional beers too. The service and ambience of this small restaurant are well regarded by almost all of their clientele, so it comes well recommended.
