Information about flights to Calgary

Cheap flights Calgary

For something a little out of the ordinary, why not try the Canadian city of Calgary for your next holiday. Located where the Bow River and Elbow river of Alberta meet, this is an extremely dry city that can cater to visitors of all sorts.

Entertainment

On your lastminute.com holiday to Calgary you will find there's plenty in the way of entertainment to choose from. The C-Train is how the locals get around. There are two separate lines that make it easy to get from sight to sight. The city regularly hosts festivals so if you time your trip carefully you could catch events like The Big Taste Food Festival or the International Street Festival, both of which attract huge numbers and are a great way to spend a long weekend.
If you need to keep the kids entertained there're some great family friendly things to do, like the children's shows at Y-stage Theatre, or the Alberta Theatre Project that both pay special attention to keeping families entertained.

Even though it can be quite cold in the winter, the Eau Claire Market is a fantastic place to visit, with stuff like the indoor playground for young kids and arcade/cinema entertainment for the older ones.

Natural surroundings

The beautiful Canadian wilderness surrounds Calgary, noticeably one of the biggest urban parks in the world, Fish Creek Provincial Park. On a trip here you'll find more than 54 miles of paths to trek, cycle and hike if the outdoors is your cup of tea. For a slightly less extreme version, a simple drive out to the Bow River will provide you with a popular place to explore, and one that can be particularly nice at sunset.

Of course, Canada is famous for its success in the Winter Olympics, and as a previous host Calgary still boasts facilities for trying many of the events. Visit Winsport's Canada Olympic Park to try your hand at skiing or ice skating in world-class facilities.

In the evening

If you're looking for something to keep you entertained at night then Calgary won't disappoint. Downtown is the place to go after 17:00, with new restaurants and bars constantly cropping up. If you're looking for an internationally renowned brewery with good food, then look no further. Brewsters Brewing Company and restaurant on Eleventh Avenue is well regarded by all its patrons.
For something a little flashier give Lounge Central 899 a go. The food comes highly recommended and is super stylish, with particular care taken over presentation some of the food which will blow you away.
