Entertainment

There are two separate lines that make it easy to get from sight to sight. Even though it can be quite cold in the winter, the Eau Claire Market is a fantastic place to visit, with stuff like the indoor playground for young kids and arcade/cinema entertainment for the older ones.


Natural surroundings

The beautiful Canadian wilderness surrounds Calgary, noticeably one of the biggest urban parks in the world, Fish Creek Provincial Park. On a trip here you'll find more than 54 miles of paths to trek, cycle and hike if the outdoors is your cup of tea. For a slightly less extreme version, a simple drive out to the Bow River will provide you with a popular place to explore, and one that can be particularly nice at sunset.

Of course, Canada is famous for its success in the Winter Olympics, and as a previous host Calgary still boasts facilities for trying many of the events. Visit Winsport's Canada Olympic Park to try your hand at skiing or ice skating in world-class facilities.


In the evening

If you're looking for something to keep you entertained at night then Calgary won't disappoint. Downtown is the place to go after 17:00, with new restaurants and bars constantly cropping up. If you're looking for an internationally renowned brewery with good food, then look no further. Brewsters Brewing Company and restaurant on Eleventh Avenue is well regarded by all its patrons.
For something a little flashier give Lounge Central 899 a go. The food comes highly recommended and is super stylish, with particular care taken over presentation some of the food which will blow you away.
