Tigerair is a budget airline operating out of Singapore, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines Limited that was established in 2004. Tigerair aims to empower travellers to fly as frequently as they need or want, to more destinations. It strives to provide more options to customers to enable a personalised service, in additional to safe and reliable travel. The award-winning airline has received recognition in over 14 airline awards since 2010, including winning best low cost carrier 2016 at the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards as well as the South India Travel Awards.

Where does Tigerair fly to?

Tigerair flies to 60 destinations in total with 40 across Asia. These include Singapore, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, the Maldives, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Tigerair Australia and Tigerair Taiwan travel to a further 14 locations across Australia and Taiwan. Additionally, Tigerair has forged partnerships with Cebu Pacific, Cebgo and Scoot airlines.

What is Tigerair's luggage allowance?

Tigerair allows you to take up to 10 kg of hand luggage on board for free. In keeping with the no-frills airline standard any checked luggage requires additional payment. You pay for the weight of your luggage and can book at any time up to four hours before departure, via the call centre or online. You can also check in luggage at the airport, however in this case, you will be limited to a maximum of 15 kg. Any luggage over this maximum weight will be charged at the current excess baggage price. Passengers who booked together under the same reservation may pool their luggage allowance.

What extras does Tigerair offer?

Tigerair offers flexibility for all travellers. There are plenty of optional extras that you can add to make sure your flight is just the way you want it. You can choose your preferred seat, get priority check-in and boarding, pre-order your meals and save money, or use the premier lounge. You can also bid on an extra seat, if there is an empty one next to yours, so you can stretch out and relax during your flight. If you have a wait in Singapore between flights of 5.5-24 hours, you may qualify for a free tour of Singapore. The tour, only available on a first-come, first-served basis, is 2.5 hours long. You can choose between a Heritage Tour or a City Sights Tour. To arrange a tour, visit a booth in the Transit Area of Terminal 2 or 3. Your visa status must allow you leave the airport, ask at a booth for more details.
