Denmark’s second city

Aarhus is a city brimming with modern architecture as well as beautiful, cobbled streets and colourful houses at its core. Take it all in strolling, or cycling, through the city. Better yet, it’s right on the coast, packed with squeaky clean harbour baths for hot (or cold!) days or just a short bike ride to the sea will have you on the beach in no time. Prefer to be on the water instead? Get your thrills with a little water-skiing! With nature of Aarhus’ doorstep, it’s great for getting lost in the leafy forests, or jumping on a bike and following a cycle route to nearby museums.
Jam-packed with events year-round, Aarhus needs to be at the top of your visit list.

Go and feed deer in the Deer Park in the Marselisborg-Moesgaard forest just south of Aarhus or walk along the Infinite Bridge and have a dip!

ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is one of the largest art museums in Northern Europe and full of exciting exhibitions and beautiful works of art to be admired. That’s not all, from Vikings to observatories, botanical gardens and natural history, Aarhus truly has plenty to learn, see and experience.

Food heaven

Bring your appetite to Aarhus, with food experiences for every mealtime, budget and taste bud. For fine dining, you will find four Michelin-starred restaurants, or why not explore the rich café culture in Aarhus or the trendy Aarhus Street Food?

Two wheels

Exploring on two wheels is the best way to see way more of the city on a short break, and the surrounding countryside too. Fill up your basket with goodies from local shops and head to the coast for an afternoon picnicking with the locals on a sunny day!

Events in Aarhus

The world’s smallest metropolis is unmissable for so many reasons, not least the extensive number of events all year round.
