We know you love Ray Quinn. And you know, that we know, that you love Ray Quinn. He's currently starring in Grease the Musical in London and we recently caught up with him and posed a few probing questions and also some from our followers on Twitter - take a seat and happy reading! And thanks Ray, we love ya!Q When did you start in Grease?A I did a spell as Doody about 6 months back, but came back recently to play Danny – which will continue until OctoberQ On a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the most) how much do you love it?A Definitely! It’s a dream come true. Every day I pinch myself – it’s such an honour!Q Were you already a fan of the movie before you auditioned for the role?A Oh yes, for sure! It’s such a legendary part, I’ve always dreamt of playing Danny. And now my dream has come true.Q What about being Danny - how did you prepare yourself?A I watched the movie a few times and took a lot of inspiration from that... then took a chance!Q What's your favourite song from the show?A I love singing Sandy, it has such a beautiful melodyQ Do you sing it in the shower?A I regret to say... yes. I do.Q What's your favourite performance of the week and why?A Friday and Saturday nights. It’s always packed and the audience is always rowdy!Q How many weeks of rehearsals did it take you to get on stage, was it a difficult part to learn and did you have to pick up new skills?A I had a week’s rehearsal and threw myself in at the deep end. But I love a challenge. Danny is a really big part to take on board but every day I’m learning new things, and loving every second!Q Do you see yourself as the leading man in any other West End shows and if so what are they?A Well, I’d love to play Saturday Night Fever as Tony Manero. That role is amazing.Q If you had to be a leading lady, who would you be?A Tracy Turnblad out of Hairspray, because the musical seems like a lot of fun.Q Can you tell us about something funny that happened during the show that shouldn't have?A To my knowledge everything has gone smoothly but I might be speaking too soon!Q Do you get mobbed by fans after the show and what do they give you - chocolates? flowers?A Lots of hugging and kissing goes on and photos aplenty. I end up going home starry eyed!Ray, we're being very cheeky here but we also have a couple of questions from our followers on twitter for you ....Q @MillySyb ok thx-he has worked a few weeks with Emma, would he take another role with her?A Yes definitely!Q @MillySyb Playing Danny was 1 of his dreams what's the next dream role?A Tony Manero in Saturday Night FeverQ @MandaLouise Did playing Doody help or hinder you in learning your role as Danny Zuko?A It helped a lot I think. I didn’t have much time to rehearse for the role so it was really useful to have knowledge of Danny from being in the production before. The smash-hit musical Grease is now booking until January 2010 and has recently unveiled a new cast including singer and television star Ray Quinn from ITV’s Dancing on Ice who joins the cast for a limited season until 3 October 2009 at The Piccadilly Theatre.Ray stars in the iconic role of ‘Danny’ and his sweetheart ‘Sandy’ is played by real life sweetheart Emma Stephens (Grease, Starlight Express, Saturday Night Fever).Former X-Factor finalist Ray Quinn recently won the nation’s hearts all over again on the popular ITV show Dancing on Ice.
