Chiang Mai is Thailand's second city and is an excellent base from which to explore Northern Thailand. Other recommended attractions are Doi Inthanon National Park filled with fauna and flora, spectacular mountain peaks and majestic waterfalls; Doi Tao Lake, and Wat Phra Doi Suthep which is situated near the top of a mountain, offering spectacular views of the city and countryside.
