Description

Venue: Brooklyn Bridge    When: Daily

Built over a period of 14 years, when completed in 1883 the Brooklyn Bridge became the longest suspension bridge in the world, with a span of 1595 feet. One of New York's most iconic landmarks, it joins Manhattan with Brooklyn over the East River and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge anywhere in the world.

Anchored by two neo-gothic towers, the bridge has been cited as a major creative influence on architects, artists and poets including Frank Lloyd Wright, Lewis Mumford and Georgia O'Keefe.
