Itinerary:

Day 1 –Arrive in Atlanta

Upon arrival in Atlanta collect your pre-booked car and make your way to the Quality Hotel Downtown Atlanta, your overnight accommodation.

Day 2–Atlanta

Enjoy a day in Atlanta, which started as railroad junction in the 1830s and quickly became the transport hub of the South. Its strategic importance was a large part of the reason it made such an inviting target for General Sherman’s Union Army, which razed it during the Civil War. Visit Fairlie-Poplar, African American Panoramic Experience, Grant Park, Atlanta History Center.p>

Day 3 – Atlanta to Nashville (approx 245 miles)

Along the way, enjoy a classic Southern ride on Chattanooga’s “Choo-Choo” train. In Lynchburg tour the legendary Jack Daniel’s whiskey distillery. Proceed to Nashville that evening. Holiday Inn Express Nashville Downtown

Day 4 – Nashville to Memphis (approx 209 miles)

Soak up the sounds in the country music capital by visiting the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Experience the South’s tumultuous history at the Tennessee State Museum. Leave the city early enough to arrive in Memphis for a late dinner.Overnight: Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel

Day 5 – Memphis

Explore the birthplace of the blues by taking in a performance in one of the entertaining Beale Street blues bars. Drive out for a tour of Elvis Presley’s home Graceland; see the original bomber, Memphis

Day 6 – Memphis to Jackson (approx 217 miles)

Jackson was founded in 1821 at the site of a trading post situated on a bluff on the west bank of the Pearl River. Jacksonians are extremely proud of their famed southern hospitality and attractions. Visit the Mississippi Museum of Art, the Smith-Robertson Museum and Cultural Center, along with the Old Capital Museum and other venues. Overnight: Quality Inn & Suites Vicksburg.

Day 7 – Jackson to New Orleans (approx 189 miles)

Enjoy a drive through the heart of the old South en route to New Orleans. The city’s unique geography, sandwiched between Lake Pontchartrain and the mighty Mississippi River, shaped the flavors of the only cuisine native to North America.Overnight: Holiday Inn Downtown Superdome

Day 8 – New Orleans

The Big Easy is a melting pot of European culture and Southern charm. Stroll through the French Quarter and admire its distinctive architectural styling, then experience the festive frenzy on Bourbon Street. Steamboat river tours are available on Proud Mary inspired paddleboats.

Day 9 – New Orleans to Pensacola (approx 188 miles)

Drive from city life to beach blankets in only a few short hours. Relax on the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and enjoy a swim in the warm blue water. Wander through Pensacola’s Seville District or head to the premium beaches of Santa Rosa Island.Overnight: BW Blue Angel Inn.

Day 10 – Pensacola to Tallahassee (approx 196 miles)

Travel along the Gulf coast through the untouched wildlife preserves and natural habitats that dot the landscape. Fishing villages and the Emerald Coast provide ample distraction on the way.Overnight: Quality Inn & Suites.

Day 11 – Tallahassee to Savannah (approx 301 miles)

Historic Savannah is home to some of the South’s most beautifully restored houses. Take a relaxing afternoon walk and picnic in one of the many green parks throughout the city. Overnight: Holiday Inn Savannah Midtown

Day 12 – Savannah to Charleston (approx 105 miles)

Charleston truly represents the grandeur and elegance of the South. Gorgeous tree-lined avenues add to the charm of the antebellum architecture. Overnight: Holiday Inn Riverview

Day 13 – Charleston to Atlanta (approx 290 miles)

Leave South Carolina’s coast and head back inland on your return trip to Atlanta.Overnight: Quality Hotel Downtown Atlanta

Day 14 – Depart Atlanta

Your tour ends today, make your way back to Atlanta airport, return your car to the car rental depot and board your flight back to London.
