The airport transit system in the underground Transportation Mall transports passengers between terminals and concourses (journey time to furthest of the six concourses: 5 minutes). There is also a travelator, which connects the terminals and carries passengers around the airport.
The I-85 and I-285 both provide direct access to the airport. I-75 and I-20 also connect the airport with all areas of Georgia and southeast USA.
The airport has space for 31,000 cars, including short- and long-term parking. There are both indoor and outdoor car parks with direct access to the terminals, as well as hourly parking areas in front of each terminal for pick-up and drop-off. Daily car parks are situated next to the terminals, while economy car parks are next to the parking decks and beyond the Ground Transportation Centre. There are also three long-term Park & Ride car parks located further away, with a free transfer bus service to/from the terminals.
Car hire companies Avis, Budget, Hertz, National/Alamo and Thrifty are located on island B, while Avis, Budget, Dollar, National, Payless and Thrifty have desks inside the airport on the first floor, within the Atrium. Off-site car hire companies are Airport Rent-A-Car, Enterprise and E-Z Rental. Passengers wishing to hire vehicles from these companies can ask for shuttles to pick them up from Arrivals; courtesy phones are located in the baggage reclaim area.
The Ground Transportation Centre (tel: 404 530 6674) is situated near baggage reclaim with information on buses, taxis, shuttles, car hire, limousines and trains, disabled transportation and off-site airport parking. Rail: Rapid train services leave the airport for downtown Atlanta (journey time: 15 minutes), from where connections to other parts of the city can be made. Road: Taxi: Metered taxis serve the airport; taxis can be booked at the Ground Transportation Centre island A. Only authorised taxis should be used. Contact the taxi information line (tel: 404 530 6698) for further information. Shared-ride taxis are also available (tel: 404 766 5312) and reservations can be made for door-to-door services. Services can be booked at the Ground Transportation Centre island B. The airport’s website has a list of all companies. Limousine: Many limousine companies provide services from the airport; reservations must be made in advance and companies must be licensed to serve the airport. Service providers can be found at the Ground Transportation Centre island G. The airport’s website has a list of all companies. Bus: The airport is served by Greyhound Flightlink buses, which depart daily for selected cities and states from the lower level of the North Terminal.
The airport customer service office is open daily 0815-2100 for enquiries; information desks are located throughout the terminal and in the automated people mover stations on each concourse. Multi-lingual customer service representatives are on hand throughout the airport to provide passengers with assistance. A visitor centre is situated in the Atrium, with tourist information available from the Atlanta CVB (tel: 404 305 8426). Volunteer hosts are also on hand to answer questions on the airport and Atlanta.
Money and communications: Bureaux de change and ATMs can be found throughout the terminals; there is also a bank and a post office in the Atrium. Eating and drinking: Various restaurants and fast-food outlets offer a wide variety of international cuisine. Shopping: Several gift and souvenir shops, as well as a duty-free, are available. Luggage: Lockers are available at Wrap-A-Bag in the southwest area of the Atrium; lockers beyond security checkpoints are out of service until further notice. Lost property is handled by the Atlanta Airline Terminal Corporation (tel: 404 530 2100). Other facilities: There is a chapel and a medical centre, as well as AED units (defibrillators).
The Executive Conference Center (tel: 800 713 1359 toll free or 404 761 6116) offers 23 meeting rooms, telephones, fax, photocopying, videoconferencing, audiovisual equipment, teleconferencing and PC workstation/laptop facilities, all of which may be booked on an hourly/daily basis. Laptop Lane centres offer a meeting room in the Atrium venue, as well as Internet connection and business facilities, including telephone, fax, printing, photocopying and workstations. There are numerous airline lounges for business-class passengers. A concierge service is available in the North Terminal baggage reclaim area with numerous business services available.
The airport has full facilities for disabled passengers including TDD phones, lifts and ramps. Disabled parking spaces are available in all car parks at the airport; spaces are clearly signposted and are located in close proximity to the airport’s main terminal; the long-term parking shuttle is wheelchair-accessible. Passengers who require wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline at the time of booking.

Shuttle buses leave from the Ground Transportation Area immediately outside the Terminal North and Terminal South. Courtesy telephones are available in the baggage reclaim and ground transportation areas.
