Itinerary:

Day 1 –Arrive in Denver

Upon arrival in Denver make collect your pre-book car and make your way to the Comfort Inn Denver, your overnight accommodation.

Day 2–Explore Denver

Denver is a vibrant city with 300 days of annual sunshine, year-round adventure and the breathtaking Rocky Mountains in their backyard. Day 3 – Denver to Colorado Springs (approx 80 miles)

Travel south to Colorado Springs and the Pike Peak Region where attraction include: The Garden of the Gods, U.S. Air Force Academy, Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, U.S Olympic training centre and Pikes Peak Cog Railway to name but a few. Overnight: Quality Inn & Suites Garden of the Gods.

Day 4 – Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs is known for its majestic beauty and abundance of attractions. Visit the Garden of the Gods, considered to be the most beautiful city park in the USA and walk among the huge red rocks with Pikes Peak in the background. Take the Manitou Springs Cog Railway to the top of 14,000+ foot high Pikes Peak. You might just find yourself on the highest railway in North America. Day 5 – Colorado Springs to Alamosa (approx 165 miles)

Here you will find Great Sand Dunes National Park, Rio Grande Scenic Railroad, Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, Rio Grande National Forest, Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge, San Luis Lakes State Park and Alamosa’s famous hot springs. Overnight: Best Western Alamosa Inn

Day 6 – Alamosa

In 1878 Alamosa – Spanish for Cottonwood grove – was founded. With a population of around 16,000, Alamosa today offers majestic mountain views, the winding Rio Grande, clear skies, breathing room, abundant agriculture, a thriving economy, and two institutes of higher learning. Overnight: Best Western Alamosa Inn.

Day 7 – Alamosa to Durango (approx 150 miles)

Durango’s world-class attractions include, Mesa Verde National Park, Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Historic Downtown, and Vallecito Lake. Overnight: Holiday Inn Durango.

Day 8 – Durango

Durango is the kind of town you dream about – there are endless ways to relax, rejuvenate and reinvigorate. The people are friendly and down to earth, the scenery is awe-inspiring, and the variety of world-class attractions and things to do is unparalleled. Durango was founded in 1880 by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, when they extended their line from Durango to Silverton in order to Haul precious metals from high country mines. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad now hauls only tourists. Last year over 200,000 people rode the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Overnight: Holiday Inn Durango.

Day 9 – Durango to Grand Junction (approx 170 miles)

Amazing natural beauty and a dramatic red rock landscape. Exhilarating outdoor adventures and stunning golf courses. Peaceful places to reflect and unwind and a charming downtown area. This is Grand Junction, Colorado's Wine Country. Overnight: Grand Vista Hotel.

Day 10 – Grand Junction

Grand Junction, Colorado takes you beyond the ski resorts of the Rocky Mountains into the mystery and majesty of the Grand Valley. An inspirational walk or ride through the Colorado National Monument is must. Quiet moments abound in the cities restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and museums. Colorado’s Wine Country is here, so why not take a wine tour and see for yourself why it’s so popular with the locals. Colorado hiking doesn’t get any better than this, and bicycle enthusiasts will find plenty of trails to get the wheels turning. Overnight: Grand Vista Hotel.

Day 11 – Grand Junction to Avon

With 6,500 year-round residents, plus another 3,500 part-time residents, Avon offers a small mountain town atmosphere with many amenities. The town serves as a gateway to the world-class Beaver Creek Resort and is eight miles west of world-famous Vail. Overnight: Comfort Inn Beaver Creek

Day 12 – Avon

Known as the “Heart of the Valley” for its geographic location as well as its strong sense of community and family-friendly atmosphere, Avon is a great place for both residents and visitors. Whether skiing, hiking, paddling the Eagle River or enjoying a leisurely day in town, you’ll find that launching your mountain adventures from Avon is easy and convenient. Day 13 – Avon

Avon offers a multitude of recreational opportunities, special events, parks, open space and trails, and a mix of local and national shops and restaurants. There is literally something for everyone to enjoy here all year round. Overnight: Comfort Inn Beaver Creek

Day 14 – Avon to Denver (approx 106 miles)

Upon arrival in Denver why not take the time to do some last minute shopping, renowned for its fabulous array of shopping opportunities, Cherry Creek Shopping Centre is the Rocky Mountain regions most exciting shopping environment with Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & CO and more than 160 distinctive stores and restaurants. Directly opposite Cherry Creek Shopping Centre is Cherry Creek North where you will find an additional 350 stores, including the famous Tattered Cover. Overnight: Comfort Inn Downtown

Day 15 – Depart Denver

Your tour ends today, make your way back to Denver airport, return your car to the car rental depot and board your flight back to London.
