The Skylink moving walkway system links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the airport railway station.
The airport lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway, which connects with the M60 (Manchester’s ring road) at junction 4. Directions for all terminals are clearly signposted.
There are some 14,000 parking spaces available at the airport. Short- and long-term parking facilities (tel: (0)161 489 3723) are available. The short-stay multi-storey parking lots are located close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Long-term parking is recommended for any stay over 6 hours. Pre-booking, with discounts offered, is available online. A regular courtesy shuttle bus operates from the long-term car parks to all terminals. Companies at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. All have desks in each of the terminals.
Rail: Manchester Airport’s new rail, coach and bus interchange, known as The Station, is connected to all three terminals via the Skylink moving walkway system. Trains operate to Manchester Airport from many stations in northern England and the Midlands. There is a frequent service between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre, which has connections to most major destinations. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available outside or near the Arrivals hall of each terminal. Bus: The airport’s bus network provides direct services to many local centres, as well as to other towns and cities. For local public transport information, contact the Greater Manchester travel information line (tel: (0)161 228 7811; website: www.gmpte.com) or Traveline (tel: (0)870 608 2608). Coach: A number of National Express services (tel: (0)870 575 7747; website: www.nationalexpress.com) run from The Station to various destinations throughout the UK.
Tourist information centres are situated in the Arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2 (tel: (0)161 436 3344). There are also information desks situated in all terminals. Several members of staff are trained in British Sign Language.
Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change, banking facilities, Internet booths and a post office are available. Eating and drinking: All terminals have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities. Shopping: Duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and concessions are available. Luggage: Left-luggage facilities and lost property offices are available (tel: (0)161 489 3463 for Terminal 1 or (0)161 489 6031 for Terminal 2). Other facilities: These include a medical centre, two prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and a 24-hour children’s play area.
The Airport Business Centre (tel: (0)161 490 5580) offers a wide range of professional business support services, including private workstations with telephone, fax, photocopying and word processing facilities, meeting room hire, Internet access and videoconferencing. The airport also has conference and banqueting facilities in the Atlantic Suite (tel: (0)161 489 6181/2) and Radisson SAS Hotel (tel: (0)161 490 5000), catering for up to 400 people and including a comprehensive range of audiovisual, telephone and fax equipment. The Escape Lounge (tel: (0)161 489 3388) offers passengers a chance to relax and use a variety of business facilities, including fax machines, telephones, Internet access and photocopying; there is a charge for entry to this lounge.
There are accessible toilets, ramps and lifts, hearing loops and wheelchair-accessible telephones throughout the terminals. All telephones are fitted with induction loops. The desk in Terminal 1 International Arrivals is equipped with a Minicom system (tel: (0)161 489 3561). Passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance should contact their airline prior to travel. There are parking spaces for disabled travellers (tel: (0)161 489 3723).

Hotel reservations can be made at the tourist information centres and at the First Options desk, located in the Terminal 1 Arrivals hall.

The glass corridor walkway, known as the ‘Link’, connects the International and Domestic terminals. A free shuttle runs between the International and Domestic terminals and the South Terminal.
The airport is linked to Vancouver via the Arthur Laing Bridge and then Highway 99. Follow signs for Highway 99 South, and then the airport. The airport is located on Grant McConachie Way.
Parkade is the closest car park to the terminals, offering covered parking; level P1 is for pick-up/drop-off of passengers; levels P2 and P3 are hourly, daily and weekly parking. Hourly or daily parking is also available at the South Terminal. The economy car park, next to Parkade, is also close to the terminals (minimum stay: one day). There is also a cheaper long-term car park with a free 24-hour shuttle service to/from the terminals. There is a 24-hour valet parking service at both the Domestic and International terminals. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National and Thrifty have facilities on the ground floor of the Parkade, close to the terminal. Off-airport companies, Discount, Dollar and Enterprise, can be contacted at the pick-up location near the economy parking lot.
Road: Taxi: Over 400 licensed taxis are available from outside the Domestic and International terminals daily 24 hours. Limousine: Limojet Gold Express operates from the airport daily around the clock (tel: 604 273 1331). Bus: The Airporter bus (tel: 604 946 8866 or 1800 668 3141 ; website: www.yvrairporter.com) serves central Vancouver hotels, the cruise ship terminal, and bus and train stations. Tickets are available from the Airporter desk in the Arrivals area of the terminals, at the pick-up point, or on the bus. Scheduled bus services are also available to major hotels in Downtown Vancouver, Whistler, Vancouver Island and various destinations in Washington State.
Customer service counters can be found on the Departures level of both the Domestic and International terminals. Tourism British Columbia Visitor Information Centre (tel: 604 207 0953 or 1598) counters are located on the Arrivals level in both the International and Domestic terminals and can help with accommodation, sightseeing and ground transportation tickets; multi-lingual services are available.

Full postal facilities and mobile phone hire are available in the Arrivals area of the Domestic Terminal. Telephones and Internet access are available throughout the airport. Eating and drinking: Licensed bars and restaurants, fast-food outlets, snack bars and coffee shops are located throughout the airport. Shopping: Most shops are located in the International and Domestic Departures areas. Duty-free shopping is available in the International Terminal, with one outlet also available in the Domestic Departures area. Luggage: Left-luggage facilities are available from CDS Baggage Storage (tel: 604 303 4519), in the Arrivals area of the Domestic and International terminals. Other facilities: The Domestic Terminal also has a pharmacy, medical clinic, dental clinic and dry cleaners. There is a spa, 24-hour nursery, and a children’s play area on the ‘Link’ walkway; baby change facilities and children’s play areas are also located at many other areas around the airport.
The CDS Business Centre (tel: 604 303 4500) in the International Terminal offers fax and photocopying facilities, computer workstations and Internet ports.
The airport is fully accessible to disabled passengers. There is a general information telephone line for the hearing impaired (tel: 604 207 7070). Disabled parking and wheelchair-accessible taxis are available.
The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel (tel: 604 207 5200; website: www.fairmont.com) is located on the airport site. Major hotels in the vicinity include the Vancouver Airport Marriott (tel: 604 276 2112) and the Radisson President Hotel & Suites (tel: 604 276 8181). Accommodation booking is available through the travel agent in the Arrivals hall of the Domestic Terminal and the Super Natural British Columbia Visitor Information Centre (tel: 604 207 0953 or 1598), located on the Arrivals level in both the International and Domestic terminals.
