- Roman Theatre
Amman's Roman Theatre is the most impressive legacy of the Roman Philadelphia and was built under Antonius Pius (138-161AD). Cut into the rock of the hill, it once seated 6000 people for performances and is also thought to have had religious significance for the city dwellers.
