Nuweiba is one of the big oases of South Sinai with the name meaning 'bubbling springs.' A quiet and relaxing area the town started as a fishing village but has developed over the years and now has an established port increasing trade business between Egypt and countries on the other side of the Gulf of Aqaba. Although well known for its stunning beaches and dramatic scenery, in recent years it has gained recognition due to the lone dolphin that has befriended a local Bedouin who nursed it back to health. Transfer time from Sharm el Sheikh airport is approximately 2 1/2 hours.
