Cruise description
Having just 35 cabins located over three decks the Viking III is a delightfully decorated boat offering an informal cruising experience with a good standard of accommodation and service. The spacious restaurant is located on the middle deck whilst the main lounge bar is situated on the top deck opening out onto the main sundeck and pool area. There is an additional sunbathing deck above the lounge bar and is the perfect place to sit and relax and watch the varied local life on the river and its banks.

Itinerary
Day 1: Depart UK and upon arrival transfer to your cruise ship in Luxor for a 7 night cruise (Transfer time approx 20 minutes). Dinner onboard boat. Welcome meeting to discuss the week ahead, which will take place either this evening or the following morning, depending on your flight arrival time.
Day 2 Morning excursion to The Valley of the Kings this will include 3 Tombs, the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Queens and finally a stop at the Colossi of Memnon for pictures. (This whole morning tour takes approximately 5 hours) On arrival back at the boat, lunch is served and the boat sets sail. The afternoon is spent relaxing on the sundeck while watching the varied local life on the river and its banks. Tea and cakes are served at Tea-time. After Dinner, the Manager holds a small cocktail party where the management of the boat are introduced to everyone.
Day 3 Morning visit to the Temple at Edfu. Afterwards, there is free time to roam the local market where you will be able to prepare for this evening's Galabeya Party on board the boat. During or after lunch we set sail for Aswan. Afternoon spent relaxing on the sundeck. The evening entertainment involves fancy dress where everyone dresses up in Galabeya and headscarves for dinner and party games. Late that night the boat docks in Aswan for 2 nights.
Day 4 Morning visit to the High Dam, the Old Granite Quarries, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae on Philae Island. In the afternoon sail by Felucca down the Nile and around Kitchener Island and its Botanical Gardens. Tonight's entertainment will be an Egyptian style 'Treasure Hunt'
Day 5 Today can be spent either at leisure or on optional excursions. The most popular excursion being to the Temple of Abu Simbel, (By coach £60 approx - By Air approx £100.) In the afternoon an optional excursion to a Nubian Village via camel or boat costs approx £15. In the late afternoon we set sail for Kom Ombo and a visit to the Ptolemic Temple takes place that evening. Overnight may be in Kom Ombo or in Edfu. Evening entertainment includes an authentic Nubian dancer.
Day 6 All day sailing downstream from Aswan to Luxor. The day is spent at leisure on board arriving into Luxor by the evening. This evenings entertainment is a traditional Belly Dancer.
Day 7 The day begins with a morning visit to the Temple of Karnak, the papyrus museum and the traditional perfume shops of Luxor. After lunch, visit the Temple of Luxor after which there is ample opportunity to explore the markets of Luxor for souvenirs and gifts. That evening there is an optional excursion to the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple.
Day 8 Leisure time in Luxor prior to your flight or transfer to your next resort.
