Your Nile cruise

This classic Nile cruise operates on the spacious Viking Premiere and is an ideal way to see the fabulous sights of Upper Egypt. The Premiere offers a a good standard of accommodation with warm, friendly service creating a relaxed and informal cruising experience. The cruise is offered on full board basis with breakfast, lunch and dinner all buffet style and offering a range of international dishes. There is a comfortable lounge bar, spacious restaurant and large sundeck with plunge pool. All the 58 cabins have panoramic windows from which you can view the beauty of the Nile.

Itinerary:

  • Day 1 - Upon arrival at Luxor transfer (approx. 20 minutes) to your allocated cruise ship. A welcome meeting will either take place on arrival or the following morning. Evening meal and overnight.

  • Day 2 - Visit to the West Bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, taking in the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon spent relaxing while the boat sails to Edfu.
  • Day 3 - Morning visit to the Temple at Edfu before sailing to Kom Ombo and Aswan. Dinner and evening entertainment usually a Galabeya party where everyone dresses up in traditional Egyptian costumes.
  • Day 4 - Morning visit to the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. Afternoon sail on a Felucca around Elephantine Island and the Botanical Gardens. Dinner and overnight.
  • Day 5 - An optional excursion is available to see the impressive temples at Abu Simbel. The trip is available by coach - cost £60 approx or by air - cost approx £100. Late afternoon sail for Kom Ombo, visiting the Ptolemic Temple. Overnight in Kom Ombo or in Edfu. Dinner and evening entertainment.
  • Day 6 - The day is spent at leisure as the boat sails to Luxor arriving later that evening. Dinner and overnight.
  • Day 7 - Visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank. After lunch spend a leisurely afternoon in Luxor strolling around the colourful bazaars and shops.
  • Day 8 - Leisure time prior to transferring to the airport for your flight.

Tips: It is customary to tip at the end of the week and the expected amount is £3 per person per night. Credit cards are not accepted on board.

Please note: Order of sailing and touring is subject to change locally. At certain times during the year the Esna lock is closed whereby the cruise will operate Esna-Aswan-Esna with a full sightseeing programme.
