Description

Venue: National Museum and Gallery    When: Daily; not Mon

Cardiff's National Museum and Gallery is unique among British museums and galleries in its broad range of displays.

The museum's particular individuality lies in the fact that is focuses on both art and science. Set in fabulous surroundings in Cardiff city centre, there are works of art by world-renowned artists, particularly from the Impressionist era. An Evolution of Wales exhibition charts 4600 million years of the country's history and there is also a Natural History in Wales exhibition, showing local flora and fauna. Other exhibits show everything from Celtic monuments to Bronze Age gold, as well as ceramics, fossils and minerals.

As well as a full programme of exhibitions from the collections, the museum also hosts talks, lectures, concerts and recitals.
