Description

Venue: Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art    When: Daily

The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is situated in a grand 1820s building overlooking a vast landscaped lawn, to the west of Edinburgh's city centre. Its grounds are peppered with sculptures by the likes of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, with the lawn designed by famous architect Charles Jencks. The modern art collection inside is one of the finest in Scotland.

The gallery shows rotating displays because it owns too many pieces to show all at any one time - so you may not see everything you want to on a single trip. The collection includes paintings by Bonnard, Matisse, Picasso, Kirchner, Bacon, Hockney and Warhol, and modern Scottish art also gets great representation.
