An excellent hotel set in beautiful surroundings. Walking into the open hall with it's large fireplace sets off the mood the minute you walk in the door. Friendly staff are on hand 24hrs. And the food in the restaurant is also of quality. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a romantic relaxing break. Edinburgh is only minutes away. Booking with lastminute.com saved us money. We will be returning soon.

Enchanting old building with sweeping staircases, turrets, and a restaurant and bar located in the cosy cellar, all immaculately presented. What truly distinguished this experience, however, was the remarkable service. Traditional and of the highest order - we suspect a shopping trip was even made on our behalf, though the staff were too modest to admit it. A welcome so warm we didn't want to leave.
