A well located and attractive traditional style hotel. Our double room was huge but the single occupied by one of our party was rather small and with a small bed. Traffic noise can be a problem especially if your room is on the main entrance side. the single room was above the main entrance and suffered traffic noise and late night disturbance from partygoers in the hotel. Overall though a good hotel and recommended, just make sure your room isway from the main entrance.

Room was extremely dark/ lacking in natural light. Felt reluctant to complain as assumed room choice was a refelction of booking at discount price via your site. In future would want more info about room before booking. Also felt breakfast at circa £30 for two was poor value. For this price breakfast should have been outstanding and it simply wasn't.

Gorgeous hotel, full of old school Edinburgh glamour. Room was smaller than I expected, but everything else was perfect.

The hotel was fantastic. The only downside was a fire evacuation at 03:30 in the morning caused by a guest. Being a senior firewarden myself I was amased at the lack of co-ordination. The staff were non existent and guests were not directed to the designated collection area. There were no signs of any firewardens from the hotel. We were not even given an instruction from anyone when we could return back to our rooms. This is why I have downgraded the mark for service.
