Good hotel was good and friendly however value for money could have been better as breakfast was not included and room service tray charge was ridiculous.

The location of the hotel is it's star feature, being just two minutes walk from the Lanes, pier, cinema and loads of restaurants and cafes. This was just as well as it meant that we could avoid the hotel breakfast at a shocking £15 per person. The room was business like rather than luxurious; this is a hotel geared towards the business traveller with expensive extras which you can avoid if you use it as a base to explore the town and eat and drink elsewhere.

The hotel itself was okay. The room was cold and the curtains didn't fit the window properly in the bathroom. But it was very centrally located.

Expected b&b but discovered room only upon arrival. Breakfast at £13.95 was a bit off. Not everyone wants the full english.Pool /gym area needs major refit. The shower in the mens changing room had been out of order for 2 weeks. Nowhere to shower before entering pool, gym or sauna. People with wet outdoor shoes walk through crowded gym area to change then back the same way to the facilities.All the equipment in the gym needs replacing and it is crammed in too close together.

The room was in need of some TLC eg peeling wallpaper and a bathroom with a musty feel to it. The cost of having breakfast was extortionate. The hotel had a very impersonal feel, clearly catering only for business customers.

Very good location. The sauna/pool was a bit small but very nice nevertheless! Nice room (but to be expected at the price we paid - even if it was discounted!)

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in January with three of my friends. The hotel is extremely well presented and has excellant views of the beach front and sea. It was situated very close to all the local amenities we were interested in using such as the beach, pier and the lanes shopping area and also several bars, clubs and restaurants.When arriving at the hotel we were checked in very quickly but unfortunately gievn the wrong rooms, the reception quickly changed this after a short conversation confirming the rooms we had booked (a twin room not a double)We all sampled room service during our stay, which we found to be exceelllant ( I would definately recommend the potato wedges!) and the service was provided quickly.I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Brighton for a long weekend or an extededperiod of time it was fantastic.

The location of this hotel is superb being the the sea front by the pier, but it is very much faded grandeur. The entrace all looks very splendid but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Certainly not what one would expect of a 4* hotel. I am only glad that I was not paying the advertised price for my room.

The hotel was ok but compared to other 4 stars I have stayed in Brighton alone, it is not quite up to standard. In my view it is not a 4, more a strong 3. It could do with a good clean in some areas and the bedrooms were very basic.A good lick of paint would help!

The hotel did not live up to expectations. It was dirty, the lift didn't work and we had to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs to come and go - I don't expect that from a 4* hotel
