Description
Venue: Triyoga Centre When: Daily
London is an exhausting place to be in. As a tourist, a business traveller or a hard-bitten resident, city life can get to you. So why not take an hour out to forget urban life in a little haven of tranquillity? The triyoga centre in leafy Primrose Hill offers a great respite from it all.
Triyoga prides itself on its no nonsense approach to teaching yoga - in its own words "you don't have to eat tofu, follow a particular religion or be any specific shape to enjoy the benefits of yoga". A fantastically full timetable of classes ranges from mind-numbingly early self-practice "mysore" to more familiar Iyengar and Ashtanga. All levels of expertise are catered for and you can tap into classes for specific age groups too.
The centre has been carefully kitted out to induce peace and calm from within. Shoes are removed on entering the welcome area (mobile phones OFF) and the pleasing colour purple is woven in as a common theme. The studios are very generously proportioned, and include a centrally raised platform so that demonstrations can be clearly made.
Other activities tick along to support the holistic theme. Pilates, Tai Chi, and Pcals take up studio time too, while treatment rooms are busy with massage, acupuncture, homeopathy, feldenkrais and the prescription of Chinese herbs.
Further details are available on the triyoga website.
