Set in the North East, Billy Elliot is a funny, heart-warming and feel-good celebration of one young boy’s dream.

The original story captured the hearts of people around the world when this poignant film was released in October 2000. It broke box office records world-wide and was nominated for a raft of awards including three Golden Globes, three Oscars and 13 Baftas.

The original multi-award winning creative team from the film - director Stephen Daldry, writer Lee Hall and choreographer Peter Darling are joined by music legend, Elton John, the most celebrated UK singer song-writer of the last 30 years, to create this musical phenomena.

A fabulous show, I was amazed by the dancing talents of Billy's character - the stage really belongs to him throughout the performance. The humorous police dance sequence was equally fab, not to mention the huge Maggie Thatcher puppet - one of the stars of the show. I would definitely see it twice more to witness the different performance from each of the 'Billy' stars.

Seat numbers

• At present, we are unable to tell you your seat numbers when booking tickets. However, seats are allocated by the theatre as soon as you book your tickets and will be the best available at the time of booking. All seats in a booking will, of course, be together in the theatre, but in the very unlikely event of this not being possible we will call you and give you the option of cancelling your booking

  Billy Elliot - The Musical is based on the inspirational film of the same name. Like the film, it contains strong language and some scenes of confrontation between policemen and miners. Please be aware of this when booking a ticket
