The recently refurbished Athenæum is a privately-owned hotel on Piccadilly with timeless Green Park views. The hotel has a glamorous and contemporary new look, that is quintessentially English, but distinctly modern in its richness, its materials and in its unexpectedness. Renowned for its service, this property has been a home away from home for generations of guests.

No cloning around - well not here anyway, because at The Athenaeum each of the rooms and suites are individually designed. Please note smoking rooms cannot be guaranteed. Guests will be asked for a guarantee on check in to cover any extra hotel charges and this may take the form of either a credit card or a deposit of £100 or one night room charge. The hotel holds the right to refuse guest to check in without providing a form of payment guarantee. The Athenaeum will be undergoing a redesign of their suites and bedrooms from September through to the middle of December. There will be minimal disruption to our guests, and during this time the restaurant, lounge, bar and Spa will be unaffected.

• Restaurant -Damask: Dining at the Athenaeum The food is “Essentially English”. We offer a comprehensive range of dining available throughout the day, made up from a selection of classic British dishes, using local products wherever possible. BEST OF BRITISH Our lunch and dinner menu, features the 'Best of British' specials which change on a daily basis. Enjoy classic English dishes such as Roast Organic South Down Lamb, Steak and Ale Pie and the Sunday favourite of Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding.

• Bar - Whisky Room: There is a whisky bar and a whisky lounge which unsurprisingly specialises in whisky (there was a selection of 157 of them at the last count). Even if that`s not your poison there`s plenty to choose from and complimentary hot and cold canapés accompany the drinks each evening.
