Nice hotel with Friendly and helpful staff, good lounge and bar. Breakfast was overpriced and mediocre but the bar meals in the evening were fine.

What can I say? DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Yes, it is fairly close to Gatwick and the bus can get you there in a very short time. Yes, the food was good, albeit over priced. Yes, the room was spacious enough. But...I arrived whilst a coach load of people were decamping into the hotel. Instead of putting two people on desk, one disinterestedly entered people's details and assigned rooms whilst the other just watched. Took close to half an hour just to check in. Then when I got to the room I noticed the bathroom light was flickering on and off. So before going to eat I stopped off at the - now clear - reception and asked the staff to replace the bulb or fix the light. After about 40 mins in the restaurant I returned to the room, but nothing had been done. I went back to reception, explained that I needed to get to sleep fairly urgently as I had a 4am check in time, and was told that the light would be quickly fixed. Half an hour later I returned to the reception to complain that nothing had been done, to which the receptionist replied she had called maintainance and could do nothing else. Finally, half an hour later I decided to go to bed. Unsurprisingly, no one knocked to fix the light. Next morning I had to shave and shower in a light that kept going off. Very dangerous in a slippery shower-bath with no light. Terrible customer service and a health and safety hazzard. Do not book this hotel.

Whilst the facade of the hotel is indeed a tudor style country hotel, the back of the hotel reveals the true prefabricated 1960's box construction. The hotel is over priced considering the level of service and cleanliness. However the breakfast was excellent.
