Stomp
With its unique combination of theatre, dance, comedy and percussion, this multi award-winning production continues to wow audiences throughout the world.

Whether in film, television or on stage, Stomp finds beauty and music in the mundane. It turns brooms into musical instruments and hand clapping into a conversation, the junk and clutter of urban life becomes the source of infectious rhythm and wonder.

Critics' choice

Brilliant and very funny - theatre at its most seductive.

New York Times

This is comedy, but its music too - it's entrancing, exhilarating and uncannily orchestral. Terrific.

The Independent

Staff pick

This has to be a percussionist's idea of heaven. The cast makes music - or a beat, anyway - from an amazing array of everyday implements, from brooms to dustbin lids. Dustbin lids seem to be all the rage at the moment - they're part of the choreography in My Fair Lady - but Stomp has clatter with cred: Which is why it's been one of the West End's biggest noises since it opened last year.

The Langley Restaurant

5 Langley St, London WC2H 9JA

The Langley Restaurant

You're twenty to thirty something, naturally gorgeous, laid-back... And a little bit hungry. So why not mosey on over to retro-cool basement The Langley for a very hip and happening bite?

Boldly decorated with striking murals and that bad-taste "office chairs, this funky basement bar/restaurant takes you to the time good-taste by passed. Yes, it's the 70s - the era of moon boots, power wing collars and customised Ford Capris. And being set in a basement, this highly original time-tunnel is full of interesting little nooks and crannies too.

But before you flinch at the prospect of TV diners and Angel Delight on the menu, fear not. Instead you have a menu of solid British fare - with dishes like honey-gazed loin of pork with spiced apple and date chutney. Or light eats like fish fingers and garnish. You can also get into the surprisingly tasteful cocktails, chilled music and beautiful people.

Staff pick

First things first, the food at The Langley is superb. The menu has a good choice from sumptuous steaks and ribs to pan-fried tuna steak and teriyaki salmon stir-fry. I opted for a fillet steak and being cooked to perfection it most certainly did not disappoint... And left just enough room for sticky toffee pudding which can only be described as heaven on a plate. In my opinion this is a little hidden gem of Covent Garden, with a totally funky decor (it is also used for photo-shoots and filming). Whilst I was eating in the restaurant, I almost totally forgot about the bar on the other side of the wall but I would definitely recommend you stay behind there for a few more drinks, the cocktail list is ingenious.
