Michael Ball, one of Britain's leading musical stars, undergoes a major transformation to play the role of Edna and has been awarded Best Actor in a Musical for the role in the 2008 Olivier Awards. Leanne Jones has won the 2008 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in the role of Tracy. Ben James-Ellis, who first shot to fame on the reality TV show Any Dream Will Do, plays heart-throb Link Larkin.
