Opening in 1988 to critical acclaim, Tate Liverpool's bright white walls are lit by generous windows, looking out onto the water of the Albert Dock. The permanent collection - Modern British Art - charts a century of British art from the Bloomsbury Group to the Young British Artists and includes work by Stanley Spencer, Ben Nicholson, LS Lowry and Sarah Lucas.
The gallery also presents a full programme of temporary exhibitions.
