Hotel staff friendly but whole place in need of a refurb. Wireless internet not working, £2.50 to use Gym (never had that before).

Britannia changed my booking from the Country Hotel to the airport hotel which was of a much poorer standard. I'd booked the hotel for my girlfiends birthday as a surprise. No lesuire facilities, shabby decor, not what I had paid for.

The hotel is basically one of those airport hotels where you stay one night and leave your car for a fortnight. It was very cheap, but rather rundown. In particular, the bed was very old and uncomfortable, and the bathroom was dingy and in need of refurbishment.

A "has been" hotel where, it seems, the staff have no concept of customer service. Being close to the airport, much of it's trade seems to be for the fly and park trade, resulting in great difficulty finding anywhere to park our car. The room was comfortable, but very grotty, with heating not functioning properly and a smell of stale smoke. Breakfast was very poor - stale rolls, tasteless coffee, little choice and staff who took no interest in their clients. No way that we will return there unless there is a change of management and a refurbish.

A slightly eccentric layout and unusual setting made a pleasant change from the usual lookalike corporate hotel blandness. We were disappointed at the breakfast for £10.50, so ate in town on the second day. The public areas are tired and in need of updating, though the roon itself was reasonably comfy and well equipped.

i love the Incredible Offer deal - you always know that you'll get a quality hotel but at a price that the cahin itself would be too afraid to present on their own web-site. I absolutely recommend this feature, especially to business users, who want an excellent hotel at a fraction of the list-price cost. Well done lastminute.com!
