Jason Donovan's career has successfully embraced soap opera, film, music and theatre, both in his native land Australia and in the U.K. He made his name in the long-running Australian TV soap Neighbours, after which he moved to England, and worked there as a singer and actor.

In 1988 he joined his Neighbours co-star Kylie Minogue in signing and started to release singles, which appealed to his growing fan base. His duet of the song Especially For You with Minogue was the fourth-highest selling single in the United Kingdom that year. He also had two No.1 hit singles on the U.K. pop charts with Too Many Broken Hearts and Sealed With a Kiss.
