On a mountain plateau on the south west coast of Turkey lies the town of Hisaronu. It overlooks the famous Olu Deniz lagoon and is only a few minutes by dolmus (the local shared taxi) form nearby Fethiye: a city of spectacular archaeological delights. Hisaronu village is based around one main street full of many shops, bars and restaurants, with a couple of nightclubs. At the top of the village is the weekly Monday market, which is great fun and full of bargains. Hisaronu has a lively character and is a great destination for all.
