Lying at the heart of the picturesque Bernese Oberland, the quaint old resort of Kandersteg is an attractive village in of the traditional Swiss character. The instructors come from an efficient and hard-working ski school, and those preferring skiing on the flat have 176 kms of cross-country trails to discover. Non-skiers are not forgotten with a rugged choice of ice-skating, husky sledging or tobogganing. For apres-ski, the resort is relaxed and informal with enough lively cafes, quality restaurants and entertaining bars to amuse everyone.
