The Skylink moving walkway system links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the airport railway station.
The airport lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway, which connects with the M60 (Manchester’s ring road) at junction 4. Directions for all terminals are clearly signposted.
There are some 14,000 parking spaces available at the airport. Short- and long-term parking facilities (tel: (0)161 489 3723) are available. The short-stay multi-storey parking lots are located close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Long-term parking is recommended for any stay over 6 hours. Pre-booking, with discounts offered, is available online. A regular courtesy shuttle bus operates from the long-term car parks to all terminals. Companies at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. All have desks in each of the terminals.
Rail: Manchester Airport’s new rail, coach and bus interchange, known as The Station, is connected to all three terminals via the Skylink moving walkway system. Trains operate to Manchester Airport from many stations in northern England and the Midlands. There is a frequent service between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre, which has connections to most major destinations. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available outside or near the Arrivals hall of each terminal. Bus: The airport’s bus network provides direct services to many local centres, as well as to other towns and cities. Coach: A number of National Express services (tel: (0)870 575 7747; website: www.nationalexpress.com) run from The Station to various destinations throughout the UK.
Tourist information centres are situated in the Arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2 (tel: (0)161 436 3344). There are also information desks situated in all terminals. Several members of staff are trained in British Sign Language.
Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change, banking facilities, Internet booths and a post office are available. Eating and drinking: All terminals have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities. Shopping: Duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and concessions are available. Luggage: Left-luggage facilities and lost property offices are available (tel: (0)161 489 3463 for Terminal 1 or (0)161 489 6031 for Terminal 2). Other facilities: These include a medical centre, two prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and a 24-hour children’s play area.
The Airport Business Centre (tel: (0)161 490 5580) offers a wide range of professional business support services, including private workstations with telephone, fax, photocopying and word processing facilities, meeting room hire, Internet access and videoconferencing. The airport also has conference and banqueting facilities in the Atlantic Suite (tel: (0)161 489 6181/2) and Radisson SAS Hotel (tel: (0)161 490 5000), catering for up to 400 people and including a comprehensive range of audiovisual, telephone and fax equipment. The Escape Lounge (tel: (0)161 489 3388) offers passengers a chance to relax and use a variety of business facilities, including fax machines, telephones, Internet access and photocopying; there is a charge for entry to this lounge.
There are accessible toilets, ramps and lifts, hearing loops and wheelchair-accessible telephones throughout the terminals. All telephones are fitted with induction loops. The desk in Terminal 1 International Arrivals is equipped with a Minicom system (tel: (0)161 489 3561). Passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance should contact their airline prior to travel. There are parking spaces for disabled travellers (tel: (0)161 489 3723).

The airport is situated just off road 40 between Gothenburg and Borås (Gothenburg is connected to the airport by motorway). From Oslo, Malmö, Karlstad or Stockholm, follow the road signs marked with the airport symbol when approaching Gothenburg; take the Flygplatsmotet exit for the airport.
There is an indoor multi-storey car park (P3), outdoor short-term car parks for both Domestic (P1 and P2) and International (P4) travellers and cheaper long-term parking (P5, P6 and P7). Visitors car parks are situated at both ends of the terminal. A manual payment desk is situated at the Luftfartsverket Information desk in the International check-in hall. All car parks are equipped with a security surveillance system and are regularly patrolled. Contact the parking service (tel: (0)31 941 033) for more information.
Avis, Europcar and Hertz are represented at the airport.
Road: Taxi: Taxis are available from a number of companies, including Lerums Taxi, Taxi Göteborg, Taxi Kurir, Taxigruppen and Flygtaxi. Taxi companies often have a fixed rate fare to Gothenburg city and other destinations from the airport. Limousine: Limousines are also available from Scandinavian Limousine (tel: (0)31 794 2424) by pre-booking. Bus: Airport buses serve Gothenburg and Borås. Timetables are available at Luftfarsverket Information at the airport. Public buses also run from the airport; bus no.615 runs to Landvetter via Härryda Church, while bus no.616 goes to Rävlanda via Hällingsjö and Landvetter.
An information desk is located in the International check-in hall, open 24 hours a day. Staff at the desk can provide help and information on scheduled and charter flights, parking, tourist information, hotel reservations, lost property and left luggage. Money and communications: Facilities include two ATMs, one in the International hall by the bank and the other in the Domestic hall, and a full service bank located in the International hall. There are bureaux de change at the bank and before and after security. Telephones are situated throughout the terminal. Eating and drinking: There are restaurants and cafés in the Domestic and International halls, and a café and bars in the transit hall. Shopping: There is a wide variety of shops at the airport, including duty free in International Arrivals and Departures (non-EU). Luggage: Travellers can leave baggage in left luggage lockers, located in the corridor between the Domestic and International halls, for up to 24 hours; to leave luggage for longer, contact Luftfartsverkert Information (tel: (0)31 941 100; e-mail: informationen@got.lfv.se) in the International hall. There are also safety deposit boxes for storage of items up to 14 days. There is also a lost property service (tel: (0)31 941 100). Trolleys are available free of charge throughout the airport and car parks. Other facilities: These include indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, a car repair service, a VAT refund service and baby changing and nursing facilities. There is also a church.
Teleservices Inform@fon allows the traveller to send faxes and send and receive e-mails. Fax facilities are also available at the information desk in the International check-in hall. The nearby Landvetter Airport Hotel (tel: (0)31 977 550) has nine conference and meeting rooms accommodating up to 18 delegates, as well as equipment for hire. Videoconferencing and teleconferencing are also available; business facilities include photocopying, printing and fax.
Disabled travellers should inform their travel agents in advance if they require assistance with luggage, getting to/from (and boarding) aircraft or if they have a hearing problem and require personal information. Travellers with a disabled permit are charged the cheaper parking rate in car parks P1, P2, P3 and P4; they should show their disabled permit at the payment desk when paying.
The Landvetter Airport Hotel (tel: (0)31 977 550), a 200m (182 yards) walk from the terminal, has 66 rooms and nine conference rooms, as well as a restaurant. Hotels located about 11km (7 miles) from the airport include the Spar Hotel Garda and the Ramada Tidbloms Hotell.
