Driving Directions

The airport is located just off the A8 from the centre of Edinburgh. The well-signed airport access road turns north off the A8 between the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.

Car Parking

The short-term car park is directly in front of the terminal building. Construction of a new multi-storey car par, with 2,000 new spaces is underway; Car Park 3, on Almond Road, with 400 short-stay spaces provides additional short-stay car parking for the duration of construction. The long-term car park is close by, served by a free courtesy coach to the terminal. Discounts are available for pre-booked long-term parking (tel: (0)870 000 1000), which can also be done online via the airport’s website. Car Hire

Alamo, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National, all have desks located in the Domestic Arrivals hall. Pre-booked cars from some off-airport companies can be contacted on the courtesy telephone located between Domestic Arrivals and check in.

The express service (bus no.100) operates daily 24 hours. Bus no.35 operates from Ocean Terminal via the city centre to Edinburgh Airport. Money and communications: The airport has bureaux de change, ATMs and a post office. Eating and drinking: Coffee shops are available throughout the airport and there are two bars and a food village. Bmi, British Airways, Scotways and Servisair have executive lounges equipped with telephone, fax and Internet facilities. The Hilton Edinburgh Airport Hotel (tel: (0)131 519 4400) has conference facilities for up to 220 delegates.

Disabled Facilities

Facilities for disabled people include accessible toilets, ramps, lifts and reserved seating. There is a TDD telephone in the International Arrivals area and the airport telephone switchboard is equipped with a Minicom system (tel: (0)131 344 3100). Induction loops are fitted at various points throughout the terminal. Passengers should advise their airline of their special needs in advance. Reserved parking and wheelchair push and provision and help with baggage are available. Assistance can also be pre-booked (tel: (0)131 344 3486).

The airport is clearly signposted. From the capital, Arrecife, take the Autovia Arrecife-Yaiza (LZ-2) and follow signs for the airport.

Car Parking

There are 1,120 car parking spaces available at the airport; the first 30 minutes are free, after which the charge is calculated on an hourly basis.

Car Hire

Autos Reisen, Avis, Betacar, Cabrera Medina, Cicar, Felycar, Hertz and Payless are represented in the Arrivals hall. When the new terminal is completed, car hire companies will also be located in the baggage reclaim area and in the Arrivals hall.

Public Transport

Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and depart from taxi ranks next to Arrivals. Bus: Buses operate to/from Arrecife-Playa Honda bus station on bus no.4. The bus station is situated next to Arrivals.

Information and Help Desks

There is an airport information desk (tel: 928 846 001) on the Departures floor. Tourist information is provided by the Lanzarote Island Council office in the Arrivals hall (tel: 928 846 073). Information desks will also be available in the new terminal on the public concourse.

Eating and drinking: Facilities include cafés, bars, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and fast-food outlets, many of which are located in Departures, after security. There is also a cafeteria in the Arrivals hall. Shopping: Shops are mostly located in Departures, after security. The new terminal, once completed, will also have extensive shopping facilities, both before and after security. Luggage: There are no left-luggage facilities at the airport. Lost property facilities are located on the Departures floor (tel: 928 846 001). Other facilities: There is a pharmacy on the public concourse, and first aid on the Arrivals level.

Conference and Business Facilities

A Guacimeta VIP Lounge (tel: 928 846 345) is equipped with business facilities, including telephones and Internet access. Fax and photocopying facilities are available at the lottery outlet, on the main concourse.

Disabled Facilities

Disabled facilities include ramps, a lift, accessible doors and toilets; there are also designated areas outside Departures and Arrivals where disabled passengers can be dropped-off or picked-up. Airlines can provide travellers with wheelchairs; passengers should request this service when booking their ticket. Designated car parking spaces are provided.
